Recognized as a Leader in U.S. EPA’s Indoor airPLUS Program Denver, CO – Lightly Treading, Inc. has been recognized by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency as a 2010 Indoor airPLUS Leader for advancing indoor air quality in residential construction, and for providing the many benefits that healthier homes offer to homeowners and families. This recognition from EPA means that Lightly Treading, Inc. is at the forefront of the healthy home movement. The seven rating organizations, out of 148 Indoor airPLUS raters, recognized by EPA this year, have qualified and reported the most homes that have earned the Indoor airPLUS label. This recognition was announced at the 2010 RESNET Building Performance Conference in Raleigh, NC. Indoor airPLUS is a partnership between EPA, builders, raters and other allies to improve indoor air quality in new homes. Homes with the Indoor airPLUS label include more than 30 additional home design and construction features that can help protect families from a host of health problems associated with poor indoor air quality, including eye irritation, allergies, headaches and respiratory problems such as asthma. “What is truly amazing about these rating organizations is they make indoor air quality look easy, and they are seeing significant business benefits as a result,“ said Rick White, Director, EPA’s Indoor airPLUS Program. “As a home performance company we believe in both reducing energy needs and the environmental footprint of homes while reducing potential health and safety concerns for homeowners. The IAP program captures the most important elements of indoor air safety and air quality that will decrease the risk for both short term and long term illnesses related to air quality issues. We are thrilled to incorporate the IAP program in homes as it helps us reach our performance goals of healthy efficient homes.” – Paul Kriescher, Principal of Lightly Treading, Inc. Indoor airPLUS qualified homes offer homebuyers all the features they want in a new home, plus moisture control, radon control, pest barriers, improved heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) systems, combustion pollutant control, low emission materials and third party verification. All Indoor airPLUS qualified homes also meet guidelines for energy efficiency set by ENERGY STAR®, the nationally recognized symbol for energy efficiency. About Lightly Treading, Inc.
